The Beginning of a New Age

Hey hey out there!

Oh my God. I'm so sorry (again!).
Over half a year has gone over and I was too busy and yes... too lazy to write.
So much happened last year. Good things and bad things. I thank God the good things prevailed.
After Madrid I took care of my study. I wasn't quite sure what to attend. I wanted to do something with media. But, you know, media is such a big field you just can't do 'something'. I was really interested in media design, a study where you learn about creating homepages, designing posters and scribbling storyboards. It's the perfect mix of film and computer. And you can work in an advertising agency later. It shouldn't be a very theoretical study like it's customary in an university. I even think there isn't any 'media design' subject at any university at all. So my options were to apply at Universities of Applied Sciences. The UAS are much more practical and not that scientific (even though it's in the name).
So I applied in Ulm, Mainz, Hof, Leipzig and Mannheim.
I was looking for information in the internet a lot in my phase of appliance. There are much websites about media studies but there was one thing that caught my attention:
Studies about film.
Most of them were private schools, which, beneath their bad reputation, are far too expensive. But one of them was a state UAS. I was very excited and applied there as well. They had a high numerus clausus therefore I didn't reckon that I would be accepted.
After my wonderful Madrid journey the answers had already arrived my letter box.
I was imbibed by Ulm, Mainz, Leipzig aaand ... Stuttgart!
My dream came true. I would study something not only with media but with film. At first I was nervous if it was the right for me. But sometimes you shouldn't worry about the future. Sometimes you have to follow your dreams and just let time flow away to see what it brings.
So I just breathed in and jumped.

And I became a student in Stuttgart.
It is a very beautiful university. It's modern and has big windows which let the sun shine inside.
I really like the professors and even though the first two semesters are mostly about math, physics and theoretically things the lessons are interesting. And I think it's good to learn about things on a paper first before you walk out in our cruel world and destroy expensive equipment.
I will tell you a bit about the study: It's not directly a film study. In the first two semesters you just lern things you need for many medial branches. In the third semester you have to decide which direction you'll take. You can go into audio technology, TV-shows, film, visuell effects, animation, app programming and much more. You see what it is about.
I'm not even one hundred percent sure if I will go to film. Other branches are interesting too.

I met so many people there! My fellow students are all very nice and I think our course sticks together.
But I'm afraid I wasn't able to attend any bar tours or events they arranged. The reason was that I haven't found a place to live.
I began to look for flats, living communities and residential homes from the moment they accepted me in Stuttgart. I have been rejected every time I applied for a home. So nearly a year I commuted between Stuttgart and my hometown. It was tiring and at the end of the semester it made me a bit angry. I had to wake up at 5:15 and took the train at 6:30. Especially if you come home at 10 p.m. you lose your passion for the course.

At the end of the semester we wrote exams. I haven't got all my grades back but it looks quite good.
Since begin of february I'm on holiday. I was kind of productive. I read a book, watched the third season of Sherlock, went out with my friends and did even something for university. I came to the conclusion to continue this wonderful senseless blog because I kind of have a connection to it.
And the fantastic part at last:
I'm moving.

I can't say much about it now. But you will see pictures later. At the moment I'm packing and looking for things I could use in my OWN apartment.
It's so exciting to say it!
I'm very happy and looking forward to furnishing it.
But you will see! Ha ha!

That was everything for now. I'm sorry there are no picture again. It will change, I promise! Next week the new semester begins. I'm curious if it will be different.

Have a nice time, wherever you are!
xoxo
