Let's Make this Place a Home!

Hey hey out there!

Happy Easter, everyone! <3
First of all, I will introduce you into a new idea of mine: The song of the post! I will give you a song that, in my opinion, will fit the post. You are free to listen to it or just to ignore it.
My Song of the Post is "Working Man" by Imagine Dragons.

The last weeks have been kind of exhausting. After getting the keys to my new apartment it was time to renovate it. There was a lot to do. It has two rooms, a bathroom and a separated kitchen. In all of the rooms there had to be worked on.

The kitchen before.
The kitchen had an old water-repellent paint that was spalling on a few spots. So it had to be removed.
Two friends and I tried to scratch it off but the parts that seemed solid could hardly be removed.
Result was, after half a day we
surrendered and began to paint the bath.

The lower half should be painted white, the upper in a nice Matcha green.

The bathroom before.

Unluckily, we had to paint it three times before the dark green, old paint wasn't visible anymore.

Masking the bathroom.

Next area needing improvement was the living room. I wanted a nice wallpaper on the wall beneath the stove so we had to scratch off the old wallpaper.

The living room wall.

After that the hall, the living room and bedroom had to be painted white.
The week after we were facing a problem: The ceiling in the bedroom was painted. No problem right here, but it wasn't painted on a wallpaper but on the blank screed. So the paint spalled. Again.
Therefore, time to scratch it off again!

The bedroom's ceiling.

Sadly, we needed a full day and weren't even ready in the end. This was very disappointing for us.

This weekend was the last to finish the flat before the move. We wallpapered the living room, after that the bedroom ceiling (which was a terrible labour), the kitchen, installed the lamps and finished the bath.
My beautiful new wallpaper!

In the end the apartment had to be cleaned, which costed another day because the previous tenants haven't been very clean and hygienic comrades.
It was hard work but after all it was worth while. The flat looks lovely and I'm excited to place my furniture in it.
The move is on Thursday, when I leave my hometown behind. I'm not far away but I never experienced something like this before. However, I think I will be lucky in Stuttgart.

At the end of the post I want to thank all of my friends who helped renovating and will help moving. Without you the apartment would have never been so beautiful : ) ! Thank you!
And I'm sorry for you readers that the pictures are low quality. I just had my phone camera which isn't very good.
More posts to follow!

Have a nice time, wherever you are!
xoxo
